We’re looking for a Senior Digital Project Manager to help control every element of complex digital campaigns and projects. It’s a hands-on operational role at the centre of our exciting digital team, focused on meeting and exceeding client expectations by taking ownership of budgets, resources and maintaining close communication with clients and team members. 

What you’ll do

The day to day basics that you will be taking on:

  • Gain a thorough understanding of clients business, brand, products/services, markets and key employee groups.
  • Maintain and share knowledge of market and product developments. Build relationships with suppliers, planning and negotiating individual project components to ensure balance between profit and quality.
  • Introduce new ideas/thinking/solutions to client challenges, understanding and justifying their use based on experience and insight. Show a real passion for all things Digital and have an eye for new/emerging platforms and how these may be integrated into the end solution.
  • Educate and inform Client Managers/Group Client Directors on new ideas and solutions, on a day-to-day basis, as well as via regular updates.
  • Engage and understand opportunities arising from internal team discussions, and provide support/documentation/proposals to ‘sell’ in the idea.
  • Manage and develop day-to-day relationships with client portfolio.
  • Create bespoke proposals / project plans for specific client requirements, identifying and highlighting key milestones, major project components and clarifying responsibilities from the proposal stage, and showing innovative thinking where possible.
  • Work closely with internal project delivery resources to ensure workloads are well managed and delivery expectations are met.
  • Make sure that any changes to the proposed project plan and delivery timings are minimised, but where unavoidable, are managed and communicated in an appropriate manner with the client – keeping all key contacts abreast of any impacts on timings or deliverables.
  • Prepare and lead meetings that relate to specific Digital projects.
  • Accurately record time spent on projects to inform Head of Digital of revenue and margins of client base (timesheets)
  • Achieving the trust and positive relationships with client portfolio
  • Share learnings across the business in a concise and straightforward manner
  • Grow strong relationships across all agency functions
  • Develop a good working knowledge of our industry
  • Support and cover for other team members as required

There are plenty of chances to collaborate around the agency, these are some of the tasks you might tackle as a team:

  • Take responsibility for all commercial elements of the project delivery – managing external resource costs where applicable and showing an awareness of P&L as well as strong client service.
  • Identify opportunities for service enhancement within the context of individual briefs or projects to increase client revenue
  • Ensure all cost proposals are commercially viable, analysing the margin and revenue generated by individual projects. 
  • Support the Group Client Directors in preparation of new business presentations, content, research, development of creative outputs. 
  • Lead from a Digital perspective, and play a significant role in pitch presentations, drafting and delivering content to potential customers.  
  • People management - work with and support junior team members in developing and achieving their goals and objectives, educating them in project management best practice, conducting or inputting on performance reviews and development responsibility
  • Develop client relationships at a more senior level 
  • Invoice management – ensuring billing is undertaken in a timely and accurate manner
  • Work with clients on a project by project basis to establish KPIs and Service Level Agreements

You will often be working with the Creative and Development teams: 

  • Managing the briefing of the creative and development teams – involving working with these teams from the outset on projects, and creating / maintaining relationships and involvement throughout the project lifecycle
  • Take ownership of the entire development of the product liaising with creative, research and production staff throughout the agency and with any resources required.
  • Review creative proposals and assess in terms of relevance to the brief and suitability to client brief. Exercise clear judgement based on knowledge of client/project requirements. 
  • Assist Digital studio / developers on project planning, deliverables and final outputs 

The role involves supporting the Digital Project Director / Head of Development in more complex project delivery: 

  • Work with appropriate third party suppliers, ensuring cost effective and reliable providers are recommended to support project activity 
  • Reporting regularly on progress/potential issues to assist in the overall project and client management. 
  • Assist in/work closely with the DPD / HoD on new business pitches, supporting and, where appropriate, advising on approach/solutions and preparing presentations for delivery to clients and potential clients.  Supporting the teams with the presentation where appropriate would be a longer-term requirement.

As well as energy, enthusiasm and an expert understanding of digital and DPM processes, to join us you’ll also need to:

  • Be confident to work on own or as part of a team
  • Have a clear understanding / appreciation of client requirements
  • Take responsibility for ownership of all project elements
  • Relationship building – gaining the trust and confidence of client contacts and key project stakeholders throughout project lifecycle
  • Have credibility and confidence, with a passion for all things digital
  • Be able to carry out routine tasks with good attention to detail
  • Be able to plan and organise familiar and new requests from both external and internal clients, prioritising workload and working well under pressure
  • Manage multiple projects/workloads
  • People Management – working with junior team members to support and develop their personal development, as part of day to day project delivery
  • Have strong presentation skills
  • Manage budgets
